Christian Formation
Weekly Christian Formation
Our Mission is to pass on the faith to our children. We can only do this when we ALL work together. When we teach our faith to the children at home and in our classes. We need your help and cooperation. Together we can move mountains.
The PARENTS are the first teachers of their children. In our families we learn the attributes of GOD. Our children will learn about LOVE, FORGIVENESS, UNDERSTANDING, WISDOM, COURAGE, AND KNOWLEDGE OF GOD. They learn this as they watch, look around, and listen to how the family interacts with one another. These qualities are all abstract and can only be learned by how they are cared for, respected and treated in the family. When the children learn these qualities in the family, it is easy for the school or religious education program to take over and begin to speak about God and how much GOD loves each and every one of us.
Saint Luke’s Parish offers religious education for students in K-3 to grade 6 on Sunday mornings from 9:15 am. to 10:15 a.m. We begin in the middle of September and end on the last Sunday of April. Our catechists are caring, knowledgeable people who are willing to donate their time to help pass on our faith. We work hand and hand with the parents to help instruct the children in the faith.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL IS OFFERED TO ALL FAMILIES IN THE PARISH. We offer this for children in K-3 to grade 3 during the third week of June from 9:00 to 11:30 am. It is a time for learning more about God’s word in story, craft and snack. Come join the fun!
We offer instructions in second grade for Reconciliation and Eucharist.
Liturgy of the Word for Children is offered at the 8:00 Mass and 10:30 Mass. This is for children in K-3 to grade 5.
R.I.S.E.N. Program for special needs young adults meets on the first Saturday of the month.
