OrganizationsOrganizationsThese are the following organizations at Saint Luke Parish. Parish Council -meets every 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the narthex meeting room. Holy Mary Society-provides a spiritual and social program fo all women of the parish. A corporate Communion Mass is held each month at 8:00 a.m. Mass followed by a breakfat and presentation or program. All women over aged 18 are welcome to participate. Bereavement Ministry- This ministry is comprised of a group of Saint Luke members who are available to help family members through a difficult time at the loss of a loved one through help in planning the funeral liturgy, presence at the funeral, support throughout the first year through correspondence, visits and prayers. Training is provided to this group to successfully carry out this ministry. Prayer Network- Call the Prayer Network phone number in the bulletin for special prayer requests. Parishioners wanting to be part of the prayer group are always welcome as well. Ushers- The men and women serving as ushers simply offer a smile, a handshake, hug or hello to all who enter for worship. Their responsibility is to foster hospitality and to create a mood of friendship and joy to visitors or the lonely as well as members. Human Concerns Committee- The Human Concerns Committee shall assist in efforts to implement the call of the Gospel and the tradition of the Gospel regarding the application of "love of neighbor" to the needs of others to form a more just and human world. Liturgy Committee- St. Luke Liturgy Committee exists for the purpose of providing for the members of the parish liturgical celebrations, which convey a very rich and real communal experience. Welcoming Committee- The Welcoming Committee welcomes new members to the parish. This committee introduces new members to the many wonderful opportunities for service and for getting to know parishioners. Knights of Columbus- K Of C, Council 4648 maintains its club house here on the parish grounds. The Knights of Columbus are the world's largest and most dynamic Catholic fraternal organization. St. Luke Seniors- This organization was formed in 1982 and its membership is restricted to those aged 55 and older. The purpose is to offer all the Seniors an oportunity to socialize together and to use the many avenues open to them for recreation, socialization and education. They meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 1:30 p.m. in the KC building. St. Vincent dePaul Society- The St. Vincent dePaul society of our parish is dedicated to serve the needy of the parish through the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. This is done quietly and discreetly through personal visits to homes, hospitals, or wherever their call may take them. Vincentians function at the direction and guidance of the pastor within a framework of total confidentiality and service to the poor. The work of the Vincentians is financed by private donations, endowments, annual parish collection and occasional district supplements. The totality of the work of the Society of St. Vincent dePaul is known but to God.
